So the fourth day/finale to the 20th Anniversary Summer Breeze was filled with surprises. Unlike other (bigger name) festivals, the previous night's vicious rain didn't leave any residual marks on the giant infield. Fans were free to walk/stumble around as carefree as the initial two days. Primal Fear were onstage too early for late-night revelers, not camping onsite. Overkill offered an old school leaning set that turned up the heat, on a blustery day. Dark Tranquillity singer Mikael Stanne jumped off the biggest stage, to sing with the fans, just one song into the Swedes' set. You want heavy? Pounding death metal from Asphyx (watch for Metal Tim's in-depth interview). What was almost an afterthought, see Tiamat, turned into a glorious evening of old Wildhoney gems, including "The Ar", "Visionaire", guest musician aided "Gaia", amongst others. A full recap of the weekend will be online soon.
